Can Your Conscious Mind Impress Other Minds?

As you may already know, the power of the subconscious mind is simply astonishing and once you’ve developed the power of your subconscious mind and the conscious mind, I believe you’ll agree with me that’s when the magic starts happening.

Recently, the issue of how conscious minds can impress other minds and our own subconscious minds has cropped up. You see, in my Inspired Action Coaching Program, one of the guiding texts I use is The Master Key System by Charles F. Haanel and recently, one of my beloved clients, Flora told me her concern about this line :

“Not only can it (the conscious mind) impress other minds, but it can direct the subconscious mind.”

She doesn’t agree with it, so I showed her this video :

Facebook Users : Please click here to watch the video.

Interesting, don’t you think?

Here’s Flora’s concern…

NO one can impress others minds!

For other minds to be impressed, they have to willingly and consciously
accept the “impressions”.

In fact if this was true, we would be running around doing other’s wills and would not be responsible for whatever situation we are in, which you know is not so. We are responsible for what we are, do, etc.

She still believes that the conscious mind cannot impress other minds.

I, on the other hand believe the opposite and my evidence is what happened in this video.

Here’s my case :

I believe that we cannot impress other minds consciously.

However, if we are able to find a way to bypass others’ conscious minds and send the message straight to the subconscious mind, the non-judgmental subconscious mind will accept it as true and…

Indeed, “we would be running around doing other’s wills”

Here’s where I would love to hear your opinion, my friend.

What’s your take on this issue? Please leave me a comment below and I’ll put your response with the others’ together to form a coherent conclusion.

  1. I enjoyed the video, although I didn’t need to watch it to know that I, too, agree with you.

When I was in my 20s, I started telling my parents about my intuition and ‘hunches.’ My Dad decided to tell me a story about my grandmother and her sisters.

They would sit around a table and consciously choose what actions they wanted unsuspecting people in the room to take.

My father recalls a very specific incident during the cold of winter, my grandmother and her sisters decided they would ‘make’ my great Uncle Frank open up a window.

A few minutes later, he walked over to the window and opened it.

I’ve had similar types of experiences where I consciously willed something to happen. Not so much with people directly or that I knew, but rather with people indirectly who I did not know.

For example, one Saturday night with my ex-girlfriend we were going to an extremely busy area of San Francisco called North Beach (the “Little Italy” of SF). We were going to a restaurant on Columbus Ave. which is the busiest street… it’s the main street where all the restaurants are located.

So about 10 mins away from our destination, I asked my then-gf “So where do you want to park?”

She looks at me jokingly and says, “What do you mean?”

So I repeated to her, “Where do you want to park?”

She says, “On Columbus Ave. just across from the restaurant.”

So get this - just as we’re pulling up on Columbus Ave, across from the restaurant…

No spots. :( We end up driving around for about five minutes before finally parking. As we get out of the car, I ask her:

“Where was it you wanted to park again?”

She looks up to see we are *exactly* across from the restaurant… a straight line to the door.

Her jaw dropped. And to be honest, I was a little surprised too… I’d played with conscious creation some, but that was just TOO perfect.

In the model of Haanel, I must have send out my conscious messages to the subconscious minds of all the people in that area that were needed to ensure that the parking spot, on that busiest street during the busiest time, would be available exactly as we pulled into it.

I’ve got other minor examples from my life - but that’s the one that always stands out.

  2. Saif,

I am stunned to read this post because just yesterday something extraordinary happened with me.

I saw a Scholarship Announcement in the paper in the morning. I instantly remembered the deserving girl who is in college. I wanted to convey this news to her mother, who comes occasionally to my house for selling incense sticks. The deadline for applying was 10th August and I do not even have her phone number.
I went about my daily chores thinking how nice it would be if this girl gets it, fervently wishing that her mother meets me soon.

Around lunch time the door bell rang and I opened the door. Aha! There she was, the incense stick seller. No need to say how happy I was to give her the paper cutting.

I had similar experiences even before. I can say with conviction that it is possible to influence other minds. (but not always)

    This is terrifying, and exciting!

IF only this technology could truly be used for
GOOD - for instance, if these experts posted
subliminal messages of peace and prosperity, plenty and harmony…wow!

But as it is…I’m not really surprised. I see the results of this every day, with six children it’s an on-going battle to control their need to spend.

    How’s the challenge going?

  4. Yes Saif, I have seen that video before…further more we will be subjected to more and more sublimal music and messages in shopping centres because marketers know this will work, influencing our conscious and subconscious mind…Using the same technology of modern Personal Development Sublimal Products.

Check the series the Century of the self:

    http://video.google.com.au/videosearch?q=the+self&sitesearch=#sitesearch=&q=the%20century%20of%20the%20self&src=3

Where it all started influencing the subconscious of the masses…

Yes true, if you consciously will not accept those messages you will stay somewhat clear of their influence…

  5. Saif,
I’ve seen this video before and it did amaze me but I seen the same things on the video and would have never come up with anything close.
I guess that’s why I can’t manifest the things I want and need. Can’t seem to get into the spirit or whatever you call it asnd when I do feel it and act on it it always comes out in the negative rather than the positive like I think it should. because I still think I’m right. It also says God hated Esau and that’s the catagory I think I fit into. Only difference is Esau was a rich man and from what I read was a just man. So, why the hate I don’t understand.

  6. Derren Brown is famous here in England for doing this sort of thing. He has a TV series in which he constantly gets people to “choose” to do things - not knowing that their “choice” has been subconsciously guided.

If this video isn’t proof for you, search Derren Brown on YouTube, and you’ll find lots more examples.

  7. I agree that the mind can be influenced. For example, have you ever laughed, cried or felt sad or happy while watching a movie? Then you were influenced by what you saw. You don’t even have to see something: radio advertising that repeatedly talks about a product or business makes this product or business familiar to you and you are more open to that product or business as a result - even if you don’t pay much attention when commercials are playing. We can use this to our advantage without it being the evil brainwashing some might suspect. For example, you may choose to tell your children that you love them, that their future is unlimited and that they are great kids. Or you may choose to tell them that they are annoying, they are devils and they are going to wind up in jail. I firmly believe your choice in which way you speak to your kids will have an enormous effect on them. As a example from my life, I grew up with one sibling - my sister. I don’t know why this one thing stuck with me, but I remember that my father told my sister at a very early age that math and science were not that important for girls (I’m a guy - he didn’t say this about boys). To this day, my sister still has issues with money and never went to college. I often think that my father might have planted that (bad) seed a long time ago that held my sister back (subconciously) from achieving more in life.
So I believe in this power and I urge people to use it in positve ways - build up your children and spouse. Give a pep talk to someone who needs a boost. Show someone the way - show them what is possible. Sometimes just demonstrating that something is possible will open opportunites to this person that they may not have even recognized before. It has worked in my life.

  8. Amazing video.

I have watched some videos of people using the subconscious mind to prove and achieve amazing results.

One example I can think of is the question of “is yawning contagious?” This is proven by the Mythbusters, but it is all got to do with playing with the subconscious mind.

Anyway I do agree with the line “Not only can it (the conscious mind) impress other minds, but it can direct the subconscious mind.”

However this is gonna be a tough task as our subconscious mind accepts a lot of information all the time.

  9. Hi there. I believe that influential people or devices have the power that individuals give them. It kind of reminds me of a cult type of mentality. Obviously, the advertising industry has a stronghold on this idea! When a lot of people are focused on things like television, magazines, I think that is where a lot of these messages are being sent out! Yes, I agree with Kate ( I have 7 children by the way) and I only wish that these secret weapons of the mind could be exposed to our children at a young age so as to arm them with positive thoughts througout their lives! I’ve just recently joined the Saiff Impovement site and I hope that it can bring me closer to attaining self-improvement. I would really like to be a more confident person as it always seems to be an issue. I hear all this side stuff about getting rich(skeptical) and stuff but for me its all worthless unless I can attain wealth from inside.

  10. Of course our minds are impressed for everything we saw and experienced as long as we are not aware, once we observe ourselves we start to awaken and then, and only then, we can own our own minds. So both are right, you and Flora.

  12. Hi everyone! Yes, I agree that minds can be impressed, too much evidence to say the contrary. On the other hand, I also feel that a person has to agree, at some level, conscious or unconscious, to believe or accept whatever is being proposed, which I imagine is why awareness and self-observation, along with unmasking and releasing our subconscious beliefs, becomes such an important issue. The alternative would mean that we are powerless and life a total charade. Who knows!!

  13. Hi Saif,
I do agree with that (think of selling psychology, or second world war-Hittler, how many people could he brain wash)and there are many more cases. But I think everyone could be influenced only in those things that are on their agenda. What I think it is protectiv mechanism that proteckt us from overload.
