The Phases of An Attractor
By SaiF on May 11, 2008 in law of attraction

My mom looked confused when I told her that I am now attracting $10,000 into my life.
She did not mention it but I could tell that she was confused.
She wasn’t confused about how I would attract that $10,000 because she knows I tend to achieve everything I set my mind to.
She was confused because I used the word “attracting” instead of “earning” or “getting”…
Wouldn’t you be confused if you were in her shoes?
Anyways, if you remember, about a week ago, I told you that I attracted $2000 into my life 24 hours after I managed to release a counter-intention.
About 40% of the replies I received asked how I did it.
I found that it rather difficult to explain how I did it without delving deeper into the Law of Attraction.
Things like understanding the other laws of the Universe (like the law of polarity that I covered a few days ago), the Universal “I”, going into the Silence, the power of your subconscious mind etc.
You might know what I’m talking about here, and if you do you’re probably attracting huge things into your life like I am or better.
If you don’t know what I’m talking about, I know you feel like there’s something missing - probably because there is.
As such, I have compiled a list of phases that I went through myself in an attempt to help you recognize which phase you’re in so that you can quickly transition to the next phase.
Phase 1 - Ignorance
I had no idea what the Law of Attraction was. If you’ve read my book, “Secrets of the Overachieves : 5 Magic Steps For Turning Your Thoughts Into Money… Or Anything Else!”, you’d know that I discovered the Law of Attraction by accident.
It all started when I decided to give Internet Marketing a second try after failing on numerous attempts, and my friend Shafir Ahmadasked me to do a Joint Venture with him by writing a book on the Law of Attraction.
I asked, “What’s that? Isn’t it like a goal-setting thing?”
Little did I know that I would go on a journey of self-discovery.
Phase 2 - The Introduction
I remember the first time I watched “The Secret” and I thought to myself, “Wow!”
I was skeptical but interested to learn more about the law of attraction.
Why? Because I’m a very practical man. In fact, I was known to be one of the most practical students around. Tony Robbins has ingrained into me that success leaves clues and that if I model what other people do, I’m going to get what they get.
However, this rather spiritual concept resonated with me possibly because of the theatrical aspect of the movie, “The Secret” and I began to look for the teachers of the Secret.
Phase 3 - Intellectualizing The Magic Formula
I don’t remember how I found Dr Joe Vitale’s book, “The Attractor Factor” but it was the first book I read about the Law of Attraction and it really set everything up for me.
The book was easy to digest and the steps within it were simple but they were not highly practical.
So, I checked out the other book I brought home from the Library and it turned out to be Jack Canfield’s “The Success Principles”.
This book was written for me - it was full of practical strategies I could use.
But it lacked the spiritual aspect found in Joe’s book.
I then decided to combine the strategies from Jack’s book and Joe’s philosophy and when it looked like I’ve had everything down and memorized, I went out and started applying.
Phase 4 - The First Attraction
The very first attraction was actually a friend, Wayne from Firefly Horizon and he pushed me all the way until I manifested my first big intention.
What is that you ask? This blog and my book.
What’s amazing was that I managed to do both of these things within 2 weeks, in between my duties as a National Serviceman, and got everything up on the 1st January 2008.
My new year’s resolution was and still is to get 10,000 readers on a daily basis.
And I know it is coming to me. =)
Phase 5 - The Ignorant Belief
After the first attraction, I started believing that whatever I think about I will attract into my life.
Despite the fact that I had taken massive action to write my book and get this blog up, I seem to have selectively chosen not to believe that I have to take action to turn my thoughts into anything I want.
Phase 6 -The Plan
The previous phase ended quite quickly when I realized I wasn’t attracting any success whatsoever.
So I made an Action Plan and began following it.
A bout of procrastination ensued.
Phase 7 - Taking Inspired Action
I then read from one of Joe Vitale’s books that he took inspired action. I began to realize why I was procrastinating - because I didn’t feel good doing it!
I realized that I was coming from my individual mind and wasn’t open to the nudges from the Universe.
Phase 8 - Massive Attraction
From taking inspired action, I made a massive attraction - getting my blog’s readership from 27 to 109 within a month!
I was convinced that I had the formula for attracting anything I want.
Phase 9 - Battling Counter-Intentions
The nest phase was when I began to realize that why I wasn’t attracting more abundance into my life was because I wasn’t letting them in.
I was putting these blocks in front of me called counter-intentions and I had a hard time battling them.
Phase 10 - Overcoming Counter-Intentions
Joe’s next book, Zero Limits, came out exactly at the right time because it provided me the solution to overcoming my counter-intentions.
It came at the perfect time and I believe the timing was nothing short of Divine. I found out about Ho’oponopono and everything changed from there.
Phase 11 - Life Is Supposed To Be Easy
I began to realize that life is supposed to be easy, and that all we have to do is listen to the inspirations we receive, act on it and be ready to receive it.
This was a very calm period.
In fact, it was too calm. It was the calm before a storm.
Phase 12 - I’m Not Attracting Anything!
This phase got me really worried.
All of a sudden, I seemed to have lost my connection to the Universe.
I started reading more and more - even my own book.
Phase 13 - Consistency’s The Key!
I found out what was wrong.
I wasn’t writing in my daily Gratitude Journal.
I wasn’t reading my intentions daily.
I wasn’t visualizing daily.
I had stopped consciously managing my thoughts, and thus my life started to reflect a mismanaged one.
I began to do all these exercises again and soon enough, I was beginning to attract new things.
Phase 14 - “Amateurs Compete, Professionals Create”
I heard that phrase from Bob Proctor and it has dramatically changed the way I do things ever since.
I realized that competition (one of my favorite past times) implied that there was scarcity when there really isn’t.
“Professionals” as Bob calls it, create.
And that creation is really how you win competitions - by choosing not to participate in it and thus not limiting yourself to any “benchmark” when truly, your capabilities are far beyond that.
I decided to put this to the test and indeed, I won the Best Trainee Award during my Instructor Prepartory Course evaluation.
Come to think of it now, if I didn’t know this I probably wouldn’t have received that award because I would have pegged myself to a certain standard when really, I could create much higher standards for myself - and I did, judging from how I had a 10 point lead when #2 led #3 by 2 points and #3 led #4 by 3 points etc.
Phase 15 - Things Mean Nothing
As soon as I received that award, what’s funny was that I felt more gratitude for becoming a greater person than receiving that physical plaque.
It was then that I discovered that truly, life is not about things. They are merely symbols of I am.
Phase 16 - Becoming A Greater Me
I had always talked about the principle of “acting as if” from the first time I started this journey.
But what I didn’t know was that my definition of it was flawed.
I was trying to act out roles of people who have successfully gone to where I want to go.
Can you see the flaw in this? I didn’t.
The flaw is that when I tried to become someone else, I was placing a limit to myself. I was saying I can only create something as big as this person when the truth is that I can create so much more!
I had subconsciously come from the place of lack and scarcity.
Now, what I do is I become my greater self.
I do not try to become the Anthony Robbins of Singapore. I choose to become the Saiful Rizal of Singapore.
But what if I don’t have confidence in myself? My question was answered in the next phase.
Phase 17 - The Great Epiphany
I soon had THE epiphany that real power comes from The Universe and not me.
I didn’t have to have confidence in myself because I could tap it from The Universe.
Life would be so easy if I just allowed the Universe to use me as a vessel to do good and to serve.
Serving the Universe or God, whichever you’d like to call It, is really where fulfillment comes from.
When you know you have served, it truly is a remarkable feeling.
I started going into The Silence and started getting streams of inspired thoughts that would take me an hour our two to finish writing down.
As I looked at the complexity of what I’ve written down, it became clear to me that my conscious thinking patterns came from me but these inspired thoughts did not.
These inspired thoughts came from the Universe, from the One Source that you and I come from, and they were far more powerful than the thoughts of my individual self.
It became clear to me that great men and women in the past had tapped into this power.
It became clear to me that I am already abundant now because I only have to raise my vibration and go into The Silence to tap into this power and create miracles.
Just A Thought…
Please note that although I feel like I have everything to attract anything into my life, I might have one or two phases that I still have to advance to.
So, if you see phases that I might not have reached yet, please leave a comment and I’ll add it to the list for the benefit of the community and myself =)

Wow Saiful, thanks for that detailed description of all the phases you’ve gone through. I’m sure this is helpful to people who think something is wrong when they don’t jump directly from reading The Secret to instantly manifesting everything they want.

About a week ago I had the opportunity to be with a teacher with whom I started profound soul immersion, if it can be called that, about 12 years ago. Anyway I had an aha which might work for you, here it is: he said he was going to start working (this is w the mind) to get a better apartment. So I asked “tell me how you work?” so he said “first, of course, I reason and come to acceptance that I deserve” . . .”and how do you do that?” “I become conscious constantly or as much as possible that whatever I do or think is good, and have it be that way, no evil thoughts regards anything (this takes practice to get good at it). And once I feel that this is where I am at then I reason: If I am good then I deserve good, and having this apartment is good for me”.
This gave me a simple and clear way to know in what frame of mind I have to be in order to ask anything from the Universe. Hope i made myself clear. Best to you. Keep the good work, I can see you way up there!

@Hunter: Hey Hunter!
You’re welcome =)
Yes, that is the very intention of this post and I think you caught onto it ;)
That’s probably the biggest myth - from The Secret to manifesting something..
It does happen, but very very rare I guess..
Don’t you think?

Thank’s Saif,
now I know whay I don’t attract life I want. I am too bussy chasing behind success instead letting success chasing me. I want to accomplish to many things at once, but I just exhaust myself.
