SaiF Appears In The Happiness Project
My friend Alex is running a Happiness: The Group Writing Project which is similar to his Happiness Project where he asks 5 questions to people who include A list bloggers motivational speakers and many more.
Since I am the World’s First Teen Personal Development Video Blogger, I decided to make a video for the my friend. I highly recommend that you go to his site to read responses from other people because I learnt alot from them.
You can either watch the video or if you’re a “words person” you can always read my answers to Alex’s questions below:
1. How Do You Define Happiness?
I define happiness by being in the state of peace and knowing that anything bad that comes will not affect me a single bit, because I’m a happy person - I can CHOOSE to be happy.
Like I said in a previous post, I’m a big believer in Anthony Robbins’ “Physiology Affects Psychology”. Some people say that when a child smiles, he does so because something on the outside makes him happy.
I beg to differ on that. Think about it. Doesn’t a child always seem to be smiling, and thus happy? If you don’t believe me. Try this experiment : Do the Gratitude Dance with me and tell me how you feel after that.
Some people also define happiness as something that comes from achieving a goal. I don’t believe that because I’ve come across times where I achieved a goal that I’ve been chasing for some time, and when I did I thought to myself, “That’s it? I thought I was supposed to feel happier than this…”
I believe you’ve been there too. That’s why I believe happiness is something that resides within me that is independent of anything that’s without.
2. On A Scale Of 1-10, How Would You Rate Your Happiness Now, Versus When You Were A Child?
I’d rate myself as an 8 or a 9 at both times - not to say I’m perfect or anything. What I mean is that the same levels of happiness comes from different levels of activities.
For example, when I was a kid, I derived my happiness from having toys, grades and most of the time, great friends to play with.
Now, I derive happiness from seeing the fruits of my labour. The rewards that come from pushing myself to the limit and beyond my comfort zones. Just like Farrah Gray who made his first million at 14 - clearly showing that he’s showing a maturity far beyond his years.
3. What Do You Do On A Daily Basis That Brings You Happiness? (And How Consistent Is The Feeling Of Happiness Throughout Your Day)
I’ll be frank with you, my friend. My happiness comes from having variety in my life. So I would listen to new songs by new artistes daily (normally by crusing through Myspace - today’s pick is Kate Voegele) and watching a whole load of tv shows like One Tree Hill, Heroes, Smallville and Comedy.
I also read a lot of good books (especially from Dr Joe Vitale) that expands my mind on life. Just ask my friends and they’ll tell you I’m always seen with a new Personal Development book almost every other day!
My most favorite activity of all would be waking up every morning and checking the number of lives I’ve touched - just look at that number to your right! I also love reading new comments on my blog, and the personal E-mails that people send to me telling me how much they appreciate my work =)
P.S. Make me HAPPY TODAY! Drop me an E-mail or drop me a comment on this post!
The consistency of happiness is rather consistent, I feel very happy throughout the day but when it nears midnight I get a bit tired from writing posts that I just feel drained.
4. What Things Take Away From Your Happiness? What Can Be Done To Lessen Their Impact Or Remove Them From Your Life?
People who impose their beliefs on me and especially those who try to convince you that they’re right, even though they KNOW they’re wrong!
What can be done to lessen the impact?
1) Ho’oponopono. As much as you’d like to think that is a Japanese Sushi, it’s not. It’s basically saying 4 cleansing phrases that will cleanse your memories and connect you with Divine Inspiration - it will take some time to explain it here so you want to read my previous post on the Ho’oponopono 101: Why I Don’t Believe In Intentions Anymore because I have really benefited from using this technique daily.
2) The Sedona Method. This is also a cleansing process where you allow yourself to let go of the emotions by asking a few questions. I talk more about this in my book (which you can get for free here) and this is another technique that I personally use on a daily basis.
5. What Do You Plan On Doing In The Future That Will Bring You Even More Happiness?
1) Provide even more great videos to my readers and subscribers because when you are happy, I am happy! =) Because my mission is to make a difference in people’s lives, no matter how small that may be - if I managed to make you feel more inspired to do something, laugh or cry, it means I’ve fulfilled my mission.
2) Become the #1 Motivational Speaker in Singapore and then the world. (Sounds abit too Pinky and the Brain don’t you think?)
3) To live life to the fullest everyday, and enjoy every second with my friends, family, you and most importantly myself!
“Happiness cannot come from without. It must come from within. It is not what we see and touch or that which others do for us which makes us happy; it is that which we think and feel and do, first for the other fellow and then for ourselves.”
-Helen Keller

Man you’ve nailed it! Such wise words for one so young and I hope you don’t think that is patronizing, because it’s a huge complement.
Good work fella!
