Millionaire At 14: Just Exactly How Did He Do It So Fast?!
By SaiF on Feb 24, 2008 in Book Golden Nuggets, Success Stories
This is part 1 of the Farrah Gray Exclusive. Part 2 features the 14 year old millionaire in action while part 3 features one of Farrah Gray’s Keynote Speeches that contain a wealth of wisdom - I’ve watched it 5 times!
Today’s video will feature a fine young gentleman by the name of Farrah Gray who’s proven to me to be the FIRST Four-Minute Miler in his own right. Have you heard of the name Farrah Gray? If you haven’t , then today’s video will BLOW YOUR MIND!
That was simply AMAZING wasn’t it?! Well, AMAZING is really an understatement of Dr. Farrah Gray and his unbelievable achievements at such a young age. While I can go on and on rambling to you about how GREAT this guy is, I wouldn’t wish my worst enemy on that.
So, today’s entry will focus on the “Nine Steps To Becoming Rich From The Inside Out” outlined in Dr. Farrah Gray’s best-selling book,”Reallionaire”. But before I do, I want to make the observation that most rich people ( not all ) are rich in this outside reality because they’re already wealthy on the inside, just like what I highlighted in one “How American Idol’s Alexandrea Lushington And I Discovered The 7 Secrets to Health & Healing”, that illness cannot exist in a body when the mind doesn’t know it exists.
I’ve not gotten my copy of the book yet, but I shall list down the nine steps here and try to figure out just exactly
1) Understand the Power of a Name
Everything in the world we live in has a name, and we will always refer to something or someone by that name. Let me try to explain the significance of this seemingly trivial fact through a story:
Peter Sugarman owns a piece of land behind his restaurant. He converts it to a Car-Park so as to make it easier for his customers in an attempt to make more money. Peter puts a big sign that says “Season Parking” and a pays a Security Guard to look after the area. Due to the cost of the land and the wage he has to pay, Peter decides to charge $2.00 per entry.
However, the nearby Residential Estate’s Multi-Storey Carpark only charges $1.50 per entry. It turns out his customers are not willing to pay the extra 50 cents and would rather walk to his restaurant. As a result, at the end of the month, Peter realised that he was only earning enough to break even so he asked himself, “How can I make more money from this?”
The next morning, Peter changed the sign and increased the entry fee to $2.50. That very night, Peter’s Car-Park was full and at any one point of time there would be drivers waiting for a Parking Lot in Peter’s Car-Park. Since that day, Peter’s making a profit of $150 from his new venture, daily
So what made the drivers who were initially unwilling to pay an extra 50 cents wait in line for parking that costs an additional dollar? What Black Magic has Peter cast on his sign to attract such people?
It’s no Black Magic, my friend. It all comes from understanding the power of a name. In the book,”Hypnotic Writing”, Dr. Joe Vitale stresses on the fact that Marketing is all about perception. So, do you want to know what Peter’s new sign read?
“PROTECTED PARKING”
Are you beginning to see the POWER of this knowledge? Farrah Gray understood this perfectly at a very early age and when he was 7, he went around introducing himself with a name card that read, “Farrah Gray : 21st Century CEO”
P.S. I also believe that the moment you label yourself something like that, you begin to put the principle of “Acting As If” into work. Try this : Say out loud now, “Your Name : 21st Century CEO”. Just saying that makes the hair at the back of my neck stand. It’s ELECTRIFYING!
Try writing down what you want to become in a few words and putting your name next to it - it works wonders.
2) Never Fear Rejection
Among all other traits of successful people, this is definitely in the Top 3. I discussed this extensively in the story of Jack Canfield, Mark Victor Hansen and the revolution they would not have started i.e. Chicken Soup For The Soul had they feared rejection and take it personally ( people reject ideas, they don’t reject you ) the first few hundred times.
Similarly, the world wouldn’t know of the inspiring story of Rocky had The Real Rocky feared rejection.
One thing that my online mentor Mike Litman, taught me is, “You’re Not Here For Everybody, You’re Here For Somebody” and as such, it is only natural that we’re going to get turned down a couple of times, and if we’re really lucky, hundreds of times and start a new Chicken Soup For The Soul Revolution.
In the video clip, Dr. Farrah Gray said, “We have to develop a healthy fear of not doing what we want to do” because, “It’s amazing what you can accomplish when you don’t know what you can do.” Farrah Gray cold-called cold-called hotels, cab companies, and shuttle bus services to find people who would help him start his Urban Neighbourhood Enterprise Club at age 8 - he made it clear through this personal example that he has never feared rejection.
From my personal experience, I believe what he’s trying to say is that when you stop letting fear overcome you, you will unleash the true potential within you. Let me give you a personal example:
When I first started this Video Blog I feared that nobody would want to watch the videos I’m sharing or hear the words I’m writing. But then I came across Dr Hale Dwoskin who teaches the Sedona Method and I asked myself the 3 questions to let that fear go (I discuss this in my book which you can get for free)
That method truly helped me clear the clouds of confusion and the clarity I received from that got me thinking, “I can be the World’s First Teen Personal Development Video Blogger and touch people’s lives,” and judging from the E-Mails and comments I’ve received, I was right.
Dr. Farrah Gray in one of his motivational speeches told us that his grandmother started his empowering habit of asking,”Why not me?”
If you find yourself thinking,” I can’t become a Millionaire,” ask yourself, “Why not me?”
If you find yourself thinking, “I can’t become the Valedictorian,” ask yourself, “Why not me?”
And the more and more you ask yourself, “Why not me?” you’ll realise that you’ll be peeling off the fear, layer after layer after layer. And eventually we’ll all end up at the same conclusion and the answer will come to you in the form of “Yea! Why not?!”
3) Build An All-Star Mentoring Team
FACT: Every Guru was once a Student - yes, even Tony Robbins. The fact is that all of us can achieve anything we set our minds to, but having a mentor will cut short our learning curves by months or even years. If you don’t believe me, just ask the Living Tennis Legend Andrea Agassi.
In The Hour Interview With Tony Robbins, Tony walks us through the mental process and training he subjected Agassi to when he was at the bottom of his career. Within a very short period of time, after a long losing spell, Andrea Agassi achieved a huge feat by winning at Wimbledon and has not looked back since then. All because he had a mentor to guide him focus his mind and get into state.
Farrah Gray’s third step is mentoring on STEROIDS and thus I believe would cut the learning curve by eons! Building an All-Star Mentoring Team might seem a little difficult especially since some of this Big Name Mentors can charge up to $3000 per hour. But it gets much cheaper and easier to assemble an All-Star Mentoring Team.
Let me tell you my personal line-up and how they mentor me.
Motivation - Anthony Robbins ( Audio & Video Programs) , Mike Litman ( Blog )
Financial Education - T. Harv Eker ( Secrets of the Millionaire Mind Book ), Robert T. Kiyosaki ( Audio Program)
Law Of Attraction - Dr. Joe Vitale ( Books, Audio Programs, Blog ), Wallace Wattles ( E-Book, Audio Book )
That’s just to name a few. I also have mentors that I meet with in real life like Merry Riana and Sean Toh who guides me along. They prove to be more useful since it’s not a one-way conversation. Additionailly, I also ask for tips and advice from successful people online like Alex Shamlan who’s doing a Happiness Project right now and Liz Strauss.
Opportunities to assemble your own All-Star Mentoring Team are endless.
