How American Idol’s Alexandrea Lushington And I Discovered The 7 Secrets To Healing And Health

Her face brims with confidence as she lightly steps on stage.
Just minutes ago, she was seen writing messages on cards to communicate with others. Why? Because at this crucial stage of the competition, Alexandrea Lushington had lost her voice and the only thing standing between her and a place in the “American Idol Top 24″ (and her claim to stardom) is this final audition.
The theatre goes silent. The music plays. She sings beautifully and powerfully till the end. Music ends. The performance was one of the best auditions I’ve watched on American Idol and it was simply breath-taking!
However when it was time for the judges to comment on the performance, she couldn’t say a word - her voice was gone! The very same girl who just 5 seconds ago was singing at the top of her lungs.
“From that day onwards, I told my Momma and everyone else that I sing from my soul.”
“You bet you did!”, I shouted at the TV.
As you can imagine, like you, I was very excited when I saw this happening right before
my very eyes.
So, I went online and searched for “The Secret To Healing” and found
the amazing and healing video below. Click on the play button and listen
to the song as you enjoy the rest of this entry:
Since nothing helpful came up, I decided to consult the highly controversial book, “The Secret” and the moment I finished reading it, I had nothing but clarity on the question that had lingered on my mind the whole time:
Can I Really Cure & Heal Anything Just By Positive Thinking?
1) Acknowledge The Power Of Medicine
The first few lines of the chapter talked to me. Literally.
Dr John Demartini said,” “So you don’t want to negate medicine. Every form of healing
has a place.” Rhonda Byrne went on to explain,”If pain is involved, then medicine can
help to eliminate that pain, which then allows the person to be able to focus with great
force on health.”
2) Know The Cause Of Your Dis-ease
When I first heard the snap of my Achilles Tendon tearing that night, the first
thing that I said to myself was,”I knew I shouldn’t have come tonight” and
“There were no symptoms that this was about to happen!”
And of course I asked the question all humans love to ask, “Why me?!”
And since I’m a “mental GIANT” as my friend JX calls me, I began to ask
better questions and I got better answers. In this case however, the best
answer was given by Dr Ben Johnson :
“They’re all the result of one thing: stress. If you put enough stress on the
chain and you put enough stress on the system, then one of the links breaks.”
I’d like to stress ;) on the fact that stress is caused by either our worry, frustration,
anger, jealousy or any one of the famous negative emotions that first came from
a negative thought. Isn’t it?
Definitely! Every feeling is derived from a thought. As I thought back to that
untimely incident, I feel like taking a time maching and hitting myself silly on the
head.
Just the day before, I was doubtful about the strength of my previous injury
under the new training regime my Physiotherapist subscribed me to. And when I
got home from work I was exhausted! (Read: Stress)
And as I sat in front of the computer contemplating whether I should go for the match,
I started to doubt if I was able to last the whole game with my level of stamina.
Then I started worrying about a recurrence of my left achilles tendon injury (Read: Stress)
And eventually, the law of attraction caught up to me. Though I think I wasn’t specific
enough which was why maybe the right achilles tendon snapped instead of the left one.
3) Spotting It Before Regretting It
Can you spot what I did wrong that night? If you said negative thinking, you’re half-right.
The answer is much simpler than you think.
Answer: I didn’t brush away the INITIAL negative thought.
And by virtue of the Law of Attraction, that negative thought attracted more and more
negative thoughts into my minds over time. That puts more and more stress on the
system and eventually, the weakest link broke. In my case, snapped!
HEY! If you ever get stressed about something, STOP! Say thank you and goodbye
to that negative thought, and you can rest assured that it won’t call more of it’s friends
along for the party.
4) Know How We Heal : The Astonishing Truth Your Doctor Never Told You
Did you know that we can regenerate? Yes, I’m talking Claire Bennet Tissue Regeneration.
(I’m a BIG Heroes fan!)

“In fact, parts of our body are literally replaced every day. Other parts take a few months, other parts a couple of years. But within a few years we each have a brand new physical body.”
- Dr. John Hagelin
If that’s true, why in the world do diseases stay in our body if we have new bodies once
every few years? You read my mind: Negative-thinking!
5) Stop The Sympathy Fest Before It Becomes A Mess!
Have you ever fallen really sick one day and told the whole world about it? Don’t lie… Of
course you have! That’s the thing. We sometimes tell people of our diseases and our
troubles to people attempting to get some sympathy and attention.
The irony is that we are just affirming and perpetuating the dis-eases we have within
our bodies, keeping them there longer than they need to be and most of the time, calling
some of their buddies for a ride.
Maybe you want an example: Have you ever had a small cold, and when your friends
see you they say, “Having another cold, eh?” and you tell them it’s been going on
since this morning? Of course you have.
Did you realise that sometimes you catch the cough bug, and then the flu bug, and then the diarrohea bug and every other dis-ease under the sun? It’s the same principles, my friend.
DO NOT tell your friends about your cold. Try saying, “Nah! This will pass in a minute.”
Similarly, DO NOT “lend a listening ear” to your friend who’s babbling about how she’s been
sick the past few days. You’ll only help her get another few more days of Medical Leave.
What’s worse is that you might actually catch it from her bad energy. (Read: Negative Thoughts)
6) Stop The Killing, Start The Healing.
I was talking to a friend online this morning, when he asked me how my leg was. I replied
honestly, “It’s not painful or anything. I don’t know why, but in my mind I feel like my leg’s
already healed.”
Illness cannot exist in a body when the mind doesn’t know it exists. In the chapter, one
of the featured stories that I absolutely and positively have to share with you about is Cathy Goodman’s:
“I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I truly believed in my heart, with my strong faith, that I was already healed. Each day I would say,”Thank you for my healing.” On and on on I went,”Thank you for my healing.” I believed in my heart I was healed. I saw myself as if cancer was never in my body.”
Cathy was healed in 3 months without radiation or chemoterapy from a seemingly incurable
disease:
I always say that incurable means “curable from within”
-Dr John Demartini
Oh I almost forgot to tell you that she managed to do this also because she was laughing
every step of the way by watching funny movies. This attracted more joy into her life and
releases the negativity.
7) Think Thoughts Of Youth And Perfection
I remember a friend asking me at midnight if I felt any different when I turned 20 last month.
I didn’t.
I also remember someone asking me if 19 felt any different from 18.
It didn’t.
And I remember many congratulating me for being 18 and an “adult”.
It’s obvious that society believes in the concept of ageing. I always hear people blaming
their forgetfulness or clumsiness on “getting older” but we both know that’s not a valid
excuse anymore since technically, we get a brand new body once every few years.
Rhonda Byrne said something very mature in the book:
“I think perfect thoughts. I see only perfection. I am perfection.
“I banished every bit of stiffness and lack of agility right out of my body. I focused on seeing my body as flexible and as perfect as a child’s, and every stiff and aching joint vanished. I literally did this overnight.”
I’m also going to practice celebrating every birthday as if it’s my first from today onwards
from the recommendation in the book! So, if you’re invited to my party, don’t be shocked
to see only one candle!
My Mom just came into the room, and asked me,” Have you taken your medicine and is
your leg painful?”
“Nope!”, I proudly answered to both of them.
“How come? Has it already healed? But it’s only been 3 days…”, I hear my mom say to herself.
;) It’ll be our little secret!
