How Do I Leave A Legacy Behind?
Today’s inspirational video is based on Linda Ellis’ poem “The Dash”.
You might not be able to see the words in the video so I highly recommend
you watch The Dash Movie here because it has better quality sound and video.
Now you know why it’s called The Dash ;)
So how do you make your dashes worthwhile and become a person
that leaves a legacy behind?
If you’ve noticed, I always sign off with “To CANI” and I believe CANI (Constant
And Never Ending Improvement) will be the determining factor between leaving
a will and leaving a legacy.
Part of leading a life of CANI which I have completely forgotten about is self-reflection.
I guess it is common sense that one has to know where one is before one strives
to go further, but like I always say :
What is common sense is not always common practice.
Fortunately my friend, Alex Shalman has written a post on Seven Questions That Will Change Your Life back on his blog that has reminded me of this principle, and I want to share them with you today.
Seven Questions That Will Change Your Life
I would like to add one more question to that:
Be sure to write these questions down now and use it to review your wee this coming Sunday!
Oh yes! I almost forgot!
The Gratitude Journal

Having a Gratitude Journal would help a lot! Did you know that something WONDERFUL happens EVERY time I write in my Gratitude Journal? It’s really MAGICAL that the moment I put my pen down after writing a Gratitude entry, I would attract into my life something equally amazing or even more amazing than what I have given grattitude for.
Let me give you a personal example:
01/02/08
“I am so happy and grateful that I won the Best Trainee Award for the Instructor Prepartory Course. I am so happy and grateful that Lieutenant Sasmianto commented that my presentation is not only inspirational to youths but also to people of other ages.”
P.S. I said something to myself to win this award that evoked the Law Of Attraction to work for me. It’s something very mature and should be devoted to one whole entry but I shall mention it here:
“The Amateur competes, the Professional creates”
Guess what happened right after that!
“I am so happy and grateful that my Paul Potts Video has had over 500 views within 24 hours!”
P.S. I never expected this to happen although it would be nice to have about 50 views in one day. The magic of grattitude? Maybe…
Guess what happened the next day!
“I am so happy and grateful that I attracted the Lenovo Thinkpad X61 with free broadband and a low price to match in ONE DAY! Alhamdulillah! (Thank You God!)”
P.S. I’ve always wanted a laptop but never really thought I could have one so soon (I was saving up and estimated that I’d have enough money to buy one this June) but my uncle gave me some money, a promotion appeared out of nowhere and the next thing I knew, I’m typing on this laptop!
Guess what happened a few hours after that!
Ok, I shan’t write more lest you think I’m showing off. So I guess this is where the cliche’d “I’m telling you this not to impress you, but to impress upon you” speech comes in. Yes, you’ve heard that one before haven’t you? And you want to hear it again? Definitely:
I’m telling you this not to impress you, but to impress upon you that giving GRATITUDE really works!!! I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again:
“Gratitude is the element that will make the Law of Attraction work for you on STEROIDS!”
Why? Because it puts you in the same vibrational energy as the Universe. It’s as simple as that!

I enjoyed this entry of yours very much Saif. Although I do blog about being in gratitude for the good things I’ve received from time to time, keeping a daily gratitude journal is even better. I shall start on it today! To CANI!!

Good morning all!
I have been using my gratitude journal for many years with great success. One never knows where the abundance will come from — and that’s the best part.
If we try to figure out the how (eg — how am I going to get that laptop?), we cannot come up with the answers. All we are left with is faith. And that is what works.
Once we have faith, believing that we are worthy of all good things, and that God (or the Universe) is good ALL the time, wonderful things begin to happen.
Have an awesome day,
Linda

I just want to say thank you, you have been such a great influence on my life. Actually, my life dramatically changed just this week by me first being open with my parents, and experiencing the unconditional love they have for me.
Of course, despite the terror that was going on prior to this, I decided for 5-10 minutes each night this week to be thankful for everything that happened that day, negative or positive.
Thank you

This is so VERY true. My life completely changed because of keeping a gratitude journal. Wanting others to enjoy the same success, I created an iPhone app called “Gratitude!” - It’s a personal gratitude journal for your iPhone and Touch.
“Gratitude!” has been a far greater success than I ever could imagine. But more so, I love to think about all those people who are now keeping their first gratitude journal and starting to bring abundance into their lives.
