Mark Victor Hansen Inspires Me To Think BIG!!!

Mark Victor Hansen is the cocreator of the biggest-selling book series in history, Chicken Soup for the Soul, with more than 100 million copies and more than 100 different titles in print. Mark has been a public speaker for 31 years, entertaining and enlightening audiences worldwide, and is the author of seven additional books and several popular audio programs. He is the recipient of numerous honorary degrees and awards, including the prestigious Horation Alger Awards.

“Today, it’s become second nature for me to think big - really, really big! I have an attitude of abundance and as a result, I enjoy a lot of prosperity in my life. But it wasn’t always this way. In 1974 I was bankrupt and upside down. Then I read a book that totally changed how I look at life and money”

I’m currently reading the book, “You’ve got to read
this book” (YES, that’s what it’s REALLY called)
which is a sort of a Chicken Soup For The Soul
which features the books that changed 55 people’s
lives.

These people include Chicken Soup for the Soul creators
Jack Canfield, Mark Victor Hansen and other notable
people like the creator of “The Secret”, Rhonda Bryne
and small business master Michael E. Gerber of E-Myth world-wide.

Mark Victor Hansen’s story struck a chord with me,
and I’m going to share this with you today.

The book that changed his life is Resurrection by
Neville Godard.

The important concept that Hansen emphasises in his
story is “start at the end and go forward” or as
Stephen Covey calls it in his 7 Princples of Highly
Effective People, “Start with the end in mind.”

His main teaching and most impactful one however
is,”The Law: Imagining Creates Reality”

This man has created such an impact on my favourite
writer, Joe Vitale that in his book The Attractor
Factor, the 4th step is called “Nevillizing your
goal” i.e. Visualisation

Hansen had “a very specific procedure” for nevillizing
his goal that I am going to try out and see for myself
if it works.

I don’t know about you, but I find it easy to visualise
but difficult to assimilate it as a belief.

I think you should have a go at it too:

“I had a very specific procedure. I’d put on some
soothing music, like Pachabel’s Canon in D. Then I
would close my eyes and take ownership of the concept.
By that, I mean I just went over the concept again
and again until it became part of my belief system.
At night I’d lull myself to sleep with thoughts such
as I am going to have absolute prosperity. I am
going to have a great day selling tomorrow. I am going
to earn my way forward and get out of the depression
I am in. I am going to wake up optimistic, positive,
hopeful, and helpful and make a difference in the lives
of people around me.

I’ve met Mark Victor Hansen at the Young Achiever’s
Congress 07 and he’s quite a big guy.

He’s roughly 2 heads taller than me but this guy
is what Enid Blyton would call a BFG or Big Friendly
Giant.

In my eyes he is a giant not because of his stature
but because of his intention to the world:

“Today, I’m working on changing the financial
consciousness of the world. One of my personal goals
is to help create a million millionaires who will each
give $1 million back to their religious organisation,
charity, or nonprofit. My students have donated
hundreds of millions of dollars so far, and very soon
may blow past a billion. At this rate, within 10 years
my students could give away over $1 trillion.”

I would also like to share with you that going to
that Young Achiever’s Congress till the end was one
of the best experiences in my life.

At the end, the Expo Hall which was about 2 soccer
fields big was filled with Michael Jackson’s
moving music.

“Heal the world. Make it a better place…”

And as the music played, the mic was passed to the
speakers who have enlightened us for the four days
with their wisdom.

Each of them reavealed their intentions to the world
on that stage as the rest of us connected hands and
swayed to the music, teary-eyed as images of world
hunger and poverty were flashed on the screen.

These tears of sadness slowly turned to tears of
joy and grattitude as the images slowly started
playing a different theme - of people smiling,
laughing, and living life with ultimate joy.

And as Hansen revealed his intention to us, the
hairs on my arms stood as I’m sure for the rest of
the people in that room.

The energy in the room was unparalleled to anything
I have ever experienced before.

For a moment there, it really felt like I was one
with the world, if not the hundreds of people in
that room and that we could REALLY change the world.

Calling that electrifying would be an understatement.

The speakers that day also had the same experience,
I’m sure of that and they are where they are today
because of one important thing.

Hansen beautifull described it in this book as:

Neville inspired me to find abundance in every part
of life and to keep that abundance flowing. For
example, if you breathe in all that you can breathe
in right now, that’s abundance. But if you hold it,
you lose it. That’s why you’ve got to keep giving it
away, so you can make room for more, because there’s
always more coming in to inundate you. One of the most
ancient texts in the world, the Upanishads, says this:

“Out of abundance, they took abundance, and still
abundance remained.”

Hansen told the story of how he had taken out $60,000
from the refinancing of his real estate to be used as
income.

Since he practises tithing 10% of his income, it
required him to give 10% of that amount i.e. $6000 away
to charity.

As he was writing the $6000 check, he was questioning
his sanity - who wouldn’t?!

But he kept remembering what Godard taught, and imagined
himself having so much money coming in, that writing
that $6000 check to charity would not matter.

The moment he did, the bank called to tell him and his
wife that they would be reducing the interest on that
loan by 2% - for no apparent reason!

That added up to a saving of $60,000 over the period of
the loan - a ten-fold return on their tithe!

He writes,” Since that time, I’ve relied on this powerful
law many times, and as a result I’ve filled my wallet,
filled my future, and have had a fulfilling life and
career….

Resurrection contained the revelation that
resurrected my life:

You create abundance - on all levels - with your own wonderful imagination.”

And it goes without saying of course, that you get
what you give - and to say 10 times what you give
wouldn’t be an exaggeration. ;)

SaiF Improvement For The Day: Make thinking big
my second nature - really, really big! How? By
coming from a place of abundance and giving away
what I have to make place for more.
