If You Think You Can Achieve Something, The Battle’s Already Won Before It Has Started
Attitudes come in all sizes.
A person with attitude can mean a person of character.
A person showing attitude comes to mean a person who’s
unruly.
Attitudes can be great.
Attitudes can stink.
Our attitudes can mean all the difference between being
average and being OUTSTANDING.
How’s your attitude my friend?
Watch this video to see the humongous before and after effects
of shifting your attitudes just a little bit:
THAT WAS NO MEAN FEAT WASN’T IT?!
I am currently undergoing an Instructor Course and what I
learnt today is quite relatable to this entry.
We were posed this question to discuss earlier today:
What’s the difference between values, attitude and behaviour?
At first glance, I’m quite sure the first two sound rather
similar but a closer look will reveal to you that it’s not.
I was given the task of explaining “attitude”.
Want to know what I said?
After long thought, it hit me liek a brick!
Our values are why you do things.
Our attitudes are how we do things.
Our behaviours are what we do.
So this is what I answered the Course Administrator:
“Attitudes determine how you present the lessons. If your
attitude stinks, it will subconsciously be transmitted across
to your audience quite quickly.
And since, your audience are mirrors of yourself, they will
give you that much mutual respect and authority.
I believe they are all interconnected. Your values and attitudes
will be reflected on the outside as your behaviour.”
And this video confirms my theory about the subconscious
transmission.
In the movie clip, Brock’s attitude is subconsciously trasmitted
to the rest of the players on the team - and since Brock’s one
of the best players, they start to believe him when he says
that the opposition is much stronger than them even though
there’s no evidence whatsoever.
Of course, the Coach does the jaw-dropping drilling that
proves a point.
Your attitude determines your outcome.
Simply because your attitudes give birth to self-fulfilling
prophecies.
If your attitude is one of determination and belief that
you can achieve a seemingly impossible feat, you will achieve
it.
If your attitude is one of resignation and giving up even
before you try accomplishing something, you won’t achieve it.
Someone influential once said something to this effect:
“Whether you think you can or cannot, you are right.”
So my friend, don’t count yourself out of the game before
you get into it.
Start changing your attitude towards things that you feel
or think or guess you can’t do well at and start KNOWING
for sure.
Change your attitude, change your life.
One step at a time.
